These Terms and Conditions apply to all purchases made from Mann Electronics (“we”, “us”, “our”) via this website. By ordering from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. About Us

Mann Electronics is a UK-based sole trader business designing and supplying open-source electronic hardware.

2. Products

  • All products are supplied as described on the website at the time of purchase.
  • Our hardware designs are open source; however, the physical products themselves are sold as goods and are subject to these Terms.
  • Minor variations in appearance or components may occur where functionally equivalent parts are used.

3. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are listed in GBP (£) unless stated otherwise.
  • For international orders, prices are shown exclusive of any local taxes, VAT, import duties, or customs clearance fees applicable in the destination country.
  • Prices do not include delivery charges, which are shown at checkout.
  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
  • Payment must be made in full before goods are dispatched.

4. Shipping and Delivery

  • Orders are normally dispatched within the timeframe stated on the product page.
  • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, couriers, or customs processes.
  • Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery.

4.1 Import Duties, Taxes, and Fees

  • For orders shipped outside of the United Kingdom, you are considered the importer of record. You are solely responsible for ensuring that the products can be lawfully imported to the destination country.
  • You are responsible for paying all import duties, customs charges, brokerage fees, and local sales taxes (e.g., VAT, GST) that may be levied upon arrival of the shipment in your country.
  • These charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping cost and must be paid by you to the relevant local authority or courier.
  • We have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. If you refuse a shipment due to unexpected import fees, any costs incurred for the return of the goods (including return shipping and any unpaid duties) will be deducted from your refund.

5. Returns and Refunds

5.1 Consumer Rights

If you are a UK consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

5.2 Change of Mind

  • You may return unused goods within 14 days of delivery for a refund.
  • Returned items must be in their original condition.
  • You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is faulty.

5.3 Faulty or Incorrect Goods

  • If goods are faulty or not as described, please contact us within 14 days of receipt.
  • We may offer a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.

6. Warranty

Mann Electronics warrants that its products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase.

If a defect arises within this warranty period, Mann Electronics will, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective product or the defective part of the product.

This warranty applies only where the product has been:

  • Installed correctly
  • Used for its intended purpose
  • Operated within its specified electrical, mechanical and environmental limits

6.1 This warranty does not cover faults or damage resulting from:

  • Misuse or improper use
  • Operation outside of stated specifications
  • Incorrect installation or wiring
  • Modification, repair, or alteration by anyone not authorised by Mann Electronics
  • Mechanical stress, impact, or environmental exposure beyond product ratings
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Use in a manner inconsistent with the supplied documentation

6.2 Claim Process

To make a warranty claim, the customer must:

  • Provide proof of purchase
  • Provide reasonable information regarding the fault

The customer may be required to return the product for inspection before a warranty claim is approved.

6.3 Limitation

This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the defective product and does not cover:

  • Removal or reinstallation costs
  • Labour costs
  • Consequential or indirect losses

6.4 Statutory Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer law.

7. Use of Products

  • Our products are intended for use by competent individuals familiar with electronic systems.
  • You are responsible for ensuring products are suitable for your application.
  • We are not liable for damage, injury, or loss arising from misuse, modification, or improper installation of products.

8. Open-Source Licensing

  • Design files, schematics, firmware, and documentation are provided under the open-source licenses stated on the product or documentation pages.
  • Nothing in these Terms restricts your rights under those licenses.
  • Open-source licenses apply to the intellectual property, not the physical hardware.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any matter which cannot be limited under UK law.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
  • Our total liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All website content, branding, and non-open-source materials remain the property of Mann Electronics.
  • You may not use our branding or trademarks without permission.

11. Privacy

Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Disclaimer

All products sold on Mann Electronics are intended for off-road, experimental, or other non-public-road use only. These products are provided as-is, may contain defects, and are unverified. By using any product from this site, you assume all risks. Mann Electronics, its authors, and contributors make no warranties and shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of these products.
